Teej (July/August)
This festival marks the advent of monsoon. In the month of Shravana, saing are hung from tree tops and the women are seen joyfully dressed and enjoying the cool breeze after a long hot summer. They sing songs of love and welcome the rains and even their swings are decorated with flowers.
Gangaur (March/April)
A festival dedicated to Gauri, a manifestation of the goddess Parvati, where maidens and married woman join in procession carrying beautifully adorned wooden images of the goddess, through the streets and praying for the well being of their husbands or asking for a husband of their dreams.
